Lessons & Life • by Lisa Bebi
Hi! I'm Lisa Bebi from San Diego. Most people know me from my contributions to Somerset Studio - some of my inventive techniques like the glam and family paintover, milk resist, and Bisquik resist, to name a few.I wanted to share with everyone the lesson my grandma taught me when I was four years old and how it help carry me throughout my life. I speak briefly about the death of my husband and my disturbing autoimmune disorder.

I loved your video! You speak for a lot of artists and also for people who are going thru a tough time in their lives and asking "Why?". I have always felt that being an artist is both a blessing and a curse but it is what it is and I'm going for it. Thankyou for your inspiring words.

Wonderful video Lisa, so real. That is the word that kept coming to mind while I was listening to and watching you: real. Lisa is real. I think your memory of your grandmother spending time coloring with you is a real treasure. Thank you for stepping outside of the box so to speak.

Lisa, I loved watching your video. You are so inspirational and though I knew part of your story, the part about your grandma I didn't. How wonderful are grandma's?! You are a fabulous artist and a wonderful friend. Thank you so much for sharing yourself the way you do.
xoxo

I love your video Lisa! You are so honest and open in your sharing and in your art. Thank you for sharing the memory of coloring with your Grandmother. I have a similar memory of making tiny animals with my mother - from the grey clay of a small stream near our home. She would say "just see the animal in your mind and let your hands make it." I also needed to hear your reminder that it's ok to "not know everything or why." Linda Harbin - MidwestieLady

thank you so much for sharing your story with all of us, Lisa.
It reminds us of the impact we can have on little people's lives--by simply giving them the *priceless* gift of OUR TIME and attention. Bravo and good on you for living your truth :) Hugs from Barcelona!

Wow, love that you did a video :) Thank you so much for sharing your stories...both touching and sad... it really does illustrate how powerful Art is...and how much it saves us all, in small ways and big ways. I also love the part about Art not being a "hobby" - it is serious work and it is annoying to have to defend it from others that do not understand.
