I Am Art • by Linda Woods
Sometimes I think it’s funny how I rarely hear people ask plumbers or mechanics about the moment they knew that’s what they were. People always ask artists and writers about their callings like there’s a magic wand involved. There’s probably magic in anything anyone is passionate about. And sometimes, I think that the more an artist tries to define or explain what made them an artist (whether their art is painting, photography, or fixing cars), the less their art speaks for them.
I remember the day I learned to change a flat tire, the day I learned how to sew a button on my blouse, and the day I learned how to un-clog a drain. I have no memory of the moment my life as an artist began because I AM art. So are you. Yes! You are art — right here and now. You do not have to do anything to be “artistic,” or learn anything special to be quotable. You are a living, breathing, perfect example of art. You are color, light, form, words, song, sound ...You are a unique, ever-growing, ever-changing masterpiece. Your visual chronicles of YOU, as art, express your colors, your dialogue, your character, your plot, the people, shapes, textures and geometry of your world. Your art is your true offering. Express yourself.

I'm so happy I met you. :) You are one of the best pieces of art I know.
