If you're like me, you love shoes.
Correction.
You adore shoes.
So recently, I was looking at one of my favorite pairs: Mary Janes with a nice thick and high heel and thinking how they could so easily be altered, because of the way the straps are designed.
So I cut strips of red wool felt and gathered some buttons and went to work.
Just a needle and thread are what I used to stitch the strips into little bows and then to stitch a vintage button in the middle.
So how about you? What can you do to a pair of shoes to make them extra special? You could stitch on bows and buttons, paint directly onto leather, crochet a little trim, decoupage papers, and more.
Show us how you alter and wear your shoes by creating a post on your blog and then linking here by leaving a comment. Deadline: September 1, 2011. Happy Art of the Dress. :)

So much fun! I posted about altering a pair of flats and a pair of boots. Thanks for the challenge, Jenny!

I've thought to make individualistic alterations to my clothes, but not my shoes?! Well you have just opened the flood gates. This should be fun.
