OK, NOW WHAT?
The CRESCENDOh team had a get-together tonight to start prepping a few things for our upcoming launch party. We started off the night all admiring this great new piece (with artwork by Danita) that we've developed to reveal at the party ... a card that contains some terrific Pay Forward Prompts that we can use every day, to make a difference in the world. (The Pay Forward facet of CRESCENDOh is something that we will invite all of the CRESCENDOh community to help us build in the weeks and months ahead. More on this later.)
The card will be one of many wonderful things (including Mod Podge) that will fill our goody bags to be given to each attendee ...
... and the goody bags will also contain CRESCENDOh's craft snack of choice: Nestle's Butterfinger.
As volunteers at the goody bag station were hard at work, we had another station of volunteers prepping the components that will make up the best name tags for each attendees.
Metal rectangles with the word CRESCENDOH created by metal letter stamps by Melody Ross for GCD Studios. Wait til you see the finished tags. They will knock your socks off.
And at another station, we had volunteers separating curly willow ...
And then spray painting them black. For what? you'll see at the party.
And finally, there was the station made up of the best teenaged girls on the planet: Andrea, Monica and Cecilia, who worked hard to get all of our ART SAVES merchandise prepped and ready ... the only items we will have for sale during the party, with all proceeds going to charity.
It was a great night. One or two more of these work parties and we'll be all set. Will you be joining us? Then you'll need to RSVP here no later than May 10th, at which time all RSVPs will be closing.
And I am proud to announce that there will be two very special speakers during the evening: Melody Ross and Suzi Blu.
Two artists who have amazing ART SAVES stories ... who will stand to testify that no matter how tough life gets, we are not alone, and there's always a way back ... through art.

Sounds like a really great get-together. Happy you share some of the atmosphere and enthusiasm here.
However, what REALLY GOT ME was the tags created using metal letter stamps. It makes me want to know more so Jenny, please, consider a tutorial post telling more about what tools and stuff you've used. (I'd like to buy some of the material but don't know what are the essential equipment if I want to stamp i.e. lower case letters for a start?)

At this point, I am truly fighting signs of smallness in myself that I can't attend.
Lord help me!

This is my first time to your blog. Your post is inspiring, especially the metal stamping.
It looks like you are really going to enjoy yourselves.

This is my first visit to your blog and it is AMAZING!!! Melody Ross told me (actually not me personally, but all of facebook) about your blog. I also have an Art Saves story.
I have MS and thanks to art I am able to continue to use my hands. It is keeping my hands flexible enough to keep them going. If it weren't for art I don't think I would have lasted this long. I have something to concentrate on and keep my mind off of the horrible pain that I experience on a daily basis. Thank you for giving me a place to visit! Wish I lived close enough to travel to the Reveal party. I am hoping that I can take part in the pay it forward campaign!!! ;-D
