Free Motion Quilting :: What you Do Tutorial
What you DO speaks so loud ...
I can't hear what you SAY.
- My obssession with free motion quilting continues.
- "What you do speaks so loud I cannot hear what you say" — one of my favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
- This piece is dedicated to all involved with the rescue mission of the trapped miners in Chile ... who under-promised and over-delivered. Bravo. And prayers for the miners as they reclaim equilibrium on solid ground.

I totally love the free motion sewing and really want to try it. How do you know if you have the right kind of machine? I'm such a copy cat...but i can't help it with all the inspiration you have been doling out lately :)

Gerri,
Most probably, the machine you own will allow you to do this. Just find the button that allows you to lower your feed dogs. (Might be in your owner's manual.) And then get a darning foot. That's it.
Have fun!

Your free motion posts are captivating and I must go and do this. I have very nice handwriting but I expect writing with my sewing machine may cause a hand-eye coordination discombobulation. I appreciate that it will take practice to master the technique but it will be so much fun to try. No wonder you are addicted!

I haven't stopped by here in a while but am enjoying browsing through all you've been creating lately with the stitching and paper and altering things!

the rescuers certainly did a beautiful thing. this piece is a great honor as we celebrate the lives of the miners and the determination of the rescuers.
