Upcycled Free Motion Stitched Stationery Tutorial DIY

Check out my latest creation ... upcycled stationery.

It's really the perfect project that takes no money at all. Because if you're like me, you have a stash of little bits and bobs of paper, fabric, string, etc. Right? I know you do.

So from my stash, I fished out a few cute things, I laid it down onto my favorite paper and then took it to my machine and secured everything down with free motion stitching.

Easy peasy, right?

And then of course the same technique to make corresponding envelopes ...

Tada. Custom stationery that's prettier than any you could buy in a fancy store.

NOTE: A word about the paper I have used. I've had a longstanding love affair with my most favorite paper: Desert Storm by Neenah Paper that is available at Kelly Paper that I talk about here and here. Trust me, when you get this paper, you'll want to buy reams of it. It comes in letter weight and cardstock weight. If you don't want to use this paper for this project, of course any paper will do.

Happy creating. :)

Jenny, that is soooo cute! The matching envelope is perfect and I would love to get a letter like that in the mail. I see you're using the baker's twine, too.

Jenny, you come up with some of the cutest things with left over stash! Thanks for the links on the paper too!

Again, complete and total CUTE!

Oh, I really LOVE these. Thanks so much for sharing. What a cool thing to do. I don't expect we can get the paper over here in the UK but the idea is definitely transferable. Love all you do, Jenny. Thanks again.

So pretty, Jenny!

too cool!

So very clever and sweet! Thanks for the paper recommendation too!

i have such a mental "thing" about using leftovers, although i save tons of stuff. my mom saved & used & re-used everything (still does) and as a kid, it drove me crazy - i swore i would never save bags, yada, yada, yada . . .

this helps me see things in a new light. something besides collage for all those bits & bobs i have stashed. something pretty.

love it. :)
