Reverse Auction :: Artists United with Love for Japan

After much planning and coordinating, I am honored to announce a very special effort to raise funds to help the people of Japan. Twenty nine artists have created original one-of-a-kind art that kicks off a reverse auction that starts today. Rather than asking you to outbid the last bidder, which happens in traditional auctions, a reverse auction invites you to purhcase one-of-a-kind art right here, right now.

Art for Japan CRESCENDOh Every week, we will lower the price of each art piece in 50-dollar increments. There's a chance that you may be able to buy your favorite piece at a lower price next week, but also a chance that it may be scooped up by someone else before the price is lowered.

The devastation that the people of Japan have experienced as a result of the recent earthquake and tsunami is unimaginable. In the face of such tragedy, the best of humanity comes forth with efforts to find unique ways to help.

We are grateful not only for the generosity and support of the contributing artists, but for their courage to put art out into the universe, and stand tall with good intent, even if a buyer doesn't come around for a while. It takes tremendous courage to do this. I am proud to stand together with sincerity to raise funds and awareness through this effort. Whether a piece sells for $250 or $50, every dollar will help those in need. That's the power of art. That's the power of good intent.

Thank you for your support.
