Coffee Table Decoupaged with Wallpaper Tutorial DIY
I had great fun staying up last night decoupaging the heck out of this very cool coffee table on wheels. Actually, I don't think it's officially a coffee table ... I found it when I was at a thrift store recently with my friends Lisa and Tracy and we agreed that it would be the perfect thing for The Studio. And for 25 bucks, I just couldn't pass it up.
Thankfully, I had lots of beautiful wallpaper that I had gotten from Pam and so I cut the papers into squares and rectangles and used Liquitex Gloss medium to adhere onto the unit, making sure to burnish it well and push out all the air bubbles. Easy peasy. (This morning, The Mister admired it and asked what I'd do if someone spilled coffee on it. Well ... here's the thing. I love how this turned out but it's not so precious that it can't handle some coffee spills or paint splatters. So what? It'll be a unit that collects the marks we make while we create. And if a mark really bothers me, I'll grab some more wallpaper and liquitex and decoupage over that. Easy.)
Here's how the other side looks. It'll be great to have the storage space built right into it.
There's just one back side that I didn't decoupage. I'm considering chalkboard paint on that side ... to have a place to write messages, make doodles, and maybe play tic tac toe. We'll see.
Hope you'll come by and see how it turnes out. Happy creating. :)

Love it!! Happy Wednesday to you!
Cheers

Xcellent idea! I have an old Army storage box thingamajiggy that I always thought would make a cool coffee table on wheels but couldn't quite get past what to do with the Army Green color. Now, you've opened my eyes to the many possibilities...what a bit of paint and paper would do...magic!

Fabulous idea! {I'm now regretting selling that old table at a garage sale last year. LOL}
