The Big Easy
I'm not sure that I can express all that I felt, all that I experienced, and became aware of during our recent trip to New Orleans. The Big Easy. I fell in love with the city. I didn't want to leave. It's a place that is like no other. Incredible art ... like these raku-fired clay pendants by artist, Joy Gauss ...
And painting by street artist, Jim Roy. I had a wonderful time talking with Jim ... a guy with a facade that would be dismissed by many but who has true talent. Aside from talent, he has discipline ... the ingredient he names as most important to being an artist ... to keep on painting and keep on showing your art ... whether on the street or in a building. Genius.
There's so much more I experienced ... like fun on Bourbon Street, the best oysters at Acme's, incredible jazz and dancing on Frenchmen Street and so much more ... where living and enjoying and expressing is easy. Where this easiness allows people from all walks of life to build and use bridges to take them to people and places and experiences that might feel impossible to attain in other places.
I want to return.
I will.

I can see the fun written all over your face...and bright smile. So glad to see you happy and well!

So glad you had a great time. I love New Orleans. We live 60 miles north of the city and we go down all the time. There's always something new to see and do there. Everyone is laid back and so happy there.

Ah, you discovered Acme. It's the first place I would go to on my frequent stays in New Orleans -- for the oyster po'boy.
Bon appétit!
