The Non-Negotiables
I had a great run this morning.
It was 6AM with The Mister. We decided on it when the week began that we'd run together today. Here's a shot I took during the run. Such a beautiful morning.
And so the shot inspired me to sketch a version of it in the box designated for today, which I did with a fine-point black marker and then colored it with Copics.
I like looking at time in different ways. By hour. By day. By week, By month. By year. This week-at-a-glance tablet I got at The Artbox I think will be a fun addition ... allowing me to look back at, and also anticipate my days, one week at a time. Things I did. Things that inspired me. Things that scared me. Things that I learned.
For this week, I ripped it out of the tablet and attached it to one of my journals with Washi tape ... hoping that it will inspire me to do more journaling in the spread in the future. (Saturday and Sunday have yet to unfold ... can't wait to see what visual I'll put in those boxes.) Fun stuff.
As I was looking at this week, and the things within my schedule, I asked myself what were the items that I wasn't willing to negotiate in terms of cancelling or re-scheduling. And those things, I circled in red. This doesn't mean that the non-circled things weren't/aren't important to me, because for the most part, once something gets on my calendar, I do it. Interestingly, the things that got circled had to do with two things: fitness, and my children. Turns out that those two things in my life are not negotiable.
What about you? What are the things that are non-negotiables in your schedule? In other words, the things that you will protect and complete no matter what? I think how you answer that reflects what you value.

love this to pieces!
