I Heart Kanvess

Check out my cute little photos. They're all photos from my Instagram feed, printed out into the cutest little 3" x 3" prints. So cute, right?

Kanvess
I ordered them through a service called Kanvess. Each print costs 25 cents and the process is super intuitive and user-friendly. Once I placed my order, the prints were here lickity split. Love that.

One of my all-time favorite Instagram photos is of me and Pam. And I love that I'll be able to put it into one of the pages I made in her art journaling class. I'm so excited about how these little photos open up new possibilities with my art journals and my cards, and other paper arts.

Yippee for Kanvess!

Announcing :: Crochet Hemp

Announcing :: www.crochethemp.com

Of all the yarns and threads that exist in the world, my very favorite that I love to crochet and knit with is hemp yarn. I love how it looks and how it feels. But of course you know that by now. :)

Crochet Hemp

As a fiber artist who has been working with hemp yarn for years, it seemed natural and logical for me to research the highest quality premium hemp yarn available and bring it to fiber artists at a most competitive price. This process of research led me to a Romanian manufacturer of hemp yarn where they use a natural process with hemp that is grown organically and processed without chemicals in order to preserve the integrity of the precious fibers.

Crochet Hemp

Crochet HempIt is a thrill for me to introduce a brand new line of hemp yarns that we call Crochet Hemp, available at www.crochethemp.com.

Crochet Hemp

And you know me. I like to keep things simple and minimal. And that means just four delightful variations of Crochet Hemp:

  • 3-strand natural
  • 12-strand natural
  • 3-strand bleached
  • 12-strand bleached

Crochet Hemp
I'm pretty convinced that with just these four yarns, I can conquer the world. :)

I hope you'll visit www.crochethemp.com and join me in discovering the joy and beauty of the fiber arts with these exquisite yarns.

DIY Wee Gift Tags Tutorial with Wee Stamps

Cute, huh?

rubber stamping tutorialI made the tags using our newest line of stamps called Wee stamps. They're wittle and so cute.
Wee Knitting Love and Wee Mason Jar.rubber stamping tutorialThe mason jar is the same design from our standard Little Miss Mason set but sized slightly smaller so that they fit perfectly on a tag. And a cluster of cute fireflies to go with.

To make the tiny heart, use a sharp craft knife to carve out a heart on the eraser of a pencil.

Create & Share :: Inkodye by Lumi :: Part 2 On Paper

Inkodye performs well not only on fabric as I showed you here, but also on paper. Check out this fun little project I made on just a regular piece of white paper. I first applied a bit of Inkodye onto the paper with a foam brush and then placed a fun metal object onto it and then exposed it in the sunlight for about 5 minutes.

Inkodye
And then voila! So easy and so cool.

Inkodye
As you can see, the inkodye cures into its true color over time, which in this case was the blue. I took the piece, added some free motion stitching to it and. Love the new doors that Inkodye opens up for my paper and mixed-media work.

Pretty to Boot

I love my UGG boots, don't you? And days like today ... when it's a bit blustery outside, are the perfect days to wear UGGs.IMG_0721 But when I slide my UGGs on, I'll also be sliding on my boot bands ... so cute, right?

  IMG_0722
They're from a brand new company called Pretty to Boot, where each pair of bands comes with a special message for the recipient based on the pretty amazing mission that the company has to inspire confident young women.

So yummy.

So for this piece, I started with Toasted Vanilla, straight up.

... and then added shading with a graphite pencil and white charcoal pencil, and lots of dit dots with a tracing wheel, and lettering with a dip pen and ink.

Oxford Mini & Padded Bloc Index Cards AND Ticonderoga Red Checking Pencil

Check out my new favorite things.

Jenny Doh
First is the red checking pencil by Ticonderoga. So what's the big deal about this red pencil? It's erasable. And I also love that it looks like a regular Ticonderoa, only red. I actually love looking at erased words because of course they never fully erase. It's like a ghost of what used to be there fully at one point in time but now only there faintly.

Jenny Doh And I am in love with these new index cards. They have the same familiar lines but the cut is different than what we all know. The itty bitty mini cards are perfect to write little notes to add to your journal and the padded block is terrific to use for lists. And I think they have other possibilities that are waiting to be discovered.
