All Grown Up :: by Lolita R. Nogan

Lolita R. NoganLittle Girl
My story begins when a little girl is introduced to an ever ending supply of scrap fabric. This fabric was special because it was given to her by a lovely lady who made her living sewing in a factory in the Bronx, NY. Ever since I can remember (which goes back 47 years) I have been in love with fiber. Be it fabric, yarn, paper, books, etc, etc, etc.

All Grown Up
As time went on this little girl evolved and so did her interests and creativity. This little girl is now a full fledged grown up women, with 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren ... I returned to college at the age of 39 and received my Master's in Art Therapy and am working on another Masters in Addiction Counseling. I feel proud of my academic accomplishments but never fully satisfied as an artist. I have worked with many different populations helping others to find their potential be it in art or just social skills. The fact is all day long I think about getting home and creating again! It actually never stops ... it's a good feeling that I hope never leaves me.

I finally opened my Etsy shop which took a whole year to list anything even though I had been busy making stuff for a long time. I love what I do but am continually searching within myself to fully reveal myself. Thanks for listening to my story.
